In both offline and online worlds I have been wandering a bit. Started a new job and quit my old one, so I haven't been around much while doing training and long shifts. Getting used to it though and like it. Online, I haven't had too much time but spent some nice time with Bebe last week in SL and it was nice to see her back. We were talking about finding some alternative worlds to hang in (due to our Doomsday intuitions) but there's not a lot out there other than OS Grid, so I guess that's that. I had fun one afternoon with a MMO called The Secret World, might hang onto that one too. Really nice graphics and story lines.
This is a pretty detailed storyline and has a lot more flexibility in character and story than most MMO. There are no specific races or paths you need to follow but rather quite a selection and the whole basis is free will. You start off choosing one of three basic groups, but what you do with it beyond that is based on decisions you make on weapons and locations and tasks completed. The 3 classes are Illuminati, Templar and Dragon.
This is me inside the police station area, which has been cordoned off, in a town called Kingston. Strange monsters have overtaken the city, brought in by the fog.
Police station behind me. Hey you gotta venture out some time.
There's a familiar sight, zombies! WOOOT. I noticed right off in the game also that there's a lot of Stephen King references. The sheriff's last name, for instance, is Bannerman. Many of the NPC's you come across have names that were also used in King stories. There is a job you have to do, to locate missing townspeople. they have last names like "Creed" (i.e. Pet Sematary).
Go down in the sewers? Yah..sounds like a great idea right? LOL
About to be attacked by a zombie. Don't worry about the owl, he's with me. For weapons I chose pistols and "elemental forces" after examining the character wheels and discovering you can get specific rewards for certain weapons achievements. For those two, at a certain level, you get some "gunslinger" rewards.
I got stuck on a quest where you have to follow ravens around town for this crazy gypsy palm-reader lady. I only get so far and can't find the damn birds. And, with such limited time maybe I will open it up again soon..like next month! Good game, though.
